# When does a referral count?

## A referral counts when someone clicks your link, creates a new Videobolt account and subscribes within 30 days. Learn how referral tracking works.

A referral counts when the person you invited:

1. clicks your referral link,
2. creates a new Videobolt account, and
3. pays for their first subscription within 30 days of clicking your link.

A few things to keep in mind:

- Only new accounts count – someone who already had a Videobolt account before clicking your link can't become your referral.
- The last link wins – if someone clicks several referral links before signing up, the referral goes to the person whose link they clicked last.
- They should sign up in the same browser – your referral is tracked when they click your link. Ad-blockers, blocked cookies or switching to a different device or browser before signing up may stop the referral from being recorded.
