What happens if my subscription payment fails?

If a payment doesn’t go through on your renewal date, don’t worry — your subscription isn’t gone, but it does pause until the payment is resolved. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Your subscription is paused

  • When a payment fails, your subscription is temporarily suspended.

  • This means you won’t have access to paid features until the payment goes through.

2. We’ll automatically retry the payment

  • Our system will automatically attempt to charge your payment method again over the next several days.

  • You don’t need to do anything unless your payment details have changed.

3. You can fix it manually

  • If your card has expired or there are insufficient funds, you can update your payment method in your Billing settings.

  • You can also click Resume Subscription to retry the charge right away.

4. Your billing date stays the same

  • Subscriptions run on a fixed monthly cycle.

  • If your payment is late, your billing date doesn’t move — once your subscription resumes, it continues from your original renewal date.

  • Example: If your renewal was due on August 15 but payment only succeeded on August 20, your next renewal will still be September 15.

5. Cancelling instead

  • If you don’t want to continue, you can cancel at any time in your Billing settings. This will stop all further payment attempts.

Summary

When a payment fails, access is paused until it’s resolved. Payments are retried automatically, and once successful, your subscription continues from the original billing date. Updating your payment details is the fastest way to get back up and running.
